Supreme Group starts building biggest sugar plant with $200mln investments

Supreme Group intends to complete the construction works of its new sugar plant in Portsaid and start its operation by 2022 with total investments of $200 million, according to its Chairman  Muharram Hilal.

The new complex is considered the biggest in the Middle East and is being carried out in cooperation with a consortium of German and Emirati companies, he added.

The company has started the construction works of the project which is spanning over 83 feddans at the beginning of the current month.

The company will be directing the plant production capacity of 30,000 tonnes to satisfy the local market’s needs while exporting 20 percent of the total production.
