Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has issued a decree to establish board of directors of the country’s space agency.
The board will be chaired by the prime minister and will include the ministers of higher education, communications, the agency’s CEO, and the head of the scientific research academy.
It will also include the deputy chairman of the council of state, representatives of the ministries of defence, interior, finance, and military production, delegates from the president’s office, the General Intelligence Service, and the Administrative Control Authority, among others.
The occupants will hold their seats for two years.
The decision was issued in presidential decree no. 411/2019.
Sisi also issued decree no. 410/2019 appointing Mohamed Afifi El-Qosi as the agency’s CEO, for a period of one year.
