Egypt’s trade with COMESA records $2.3 bln in 2018

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) reached $2.31 billion in 2018 from $1.64 billion in 2017.

Egyptian exports to COMESA rose 34.5 percent year-on-year to $1.52 billion last year, according to Egyptian Trade Ministry.

The North African country’s imports from the free trade zone increased 56.8 percent to $792 million in 2018 against $505 million a year earlier.
