Egypt’s foreign debt increases 16.6% at 2018 end

Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said in a statement that the country’s foreign debt  increased by 16.6% recording  $96.6 billion at the end  2018,  compared to $82.88 billion the end of 2017.

According to CBE recent data the foriegn debts has witnessed an increase by 4.3 percent during the first half of the current year, compared to $92.643 billion by the end of June 2018.

Long-term foreign debt was estimated at $ 86.271 billion at the end of December 2018, compared to $71.756 billion at the end of 2017. Short-term debt declined to about 10.341 billion dollars, compared with 11.128 billion dollars during the comparative period.
