Egypt OKs Russia’s technical support for Dabaa nuclear power plant

Egypt’s Cabinet entrusted  Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker with commissioning head of the Egyptian nuclear and Radiological regulatory Authority (ENRRA) to sign the fifth contract of extending financial and technical support offered by the Russian side to carry out Dabaa nuclear power plant.

The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting under Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly.

The cabinet also approved a presidential decree on allocating 24.2 feddans from the state-owned lands in Rashid area, Beheira governorate, for the Egyptian-General Petroleum Corporation to be used for establishing oil projects.

The decision was taken within the framework of the state’s keenness on encouraging investments and removing obstacles facing oil companies to allow the companies to change their capital to any foreign currency.
