Egypt’s start-up accelerator Falak and Misr El Kheir Foundation have signed on Saturday two deals with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support entrepreneurs and innovators in Egypt.
Falak Startups is designed to support and empower the next generation of Egyptian entrepreneurs and contribute to the development of start-up ecosystem in the country.
Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr has witnessed the ceremony of signing the agreements on the sidelines of Africa 2018 Forum that kicks off in Egypt’s tourist resort of Sharm El-Sheikh.
Africa Forum, Egypt’s biggest international gathering, is placing this year place special focus on issues of concern to African youth and women empowerment. The first day’s events will feature a Young Entrepreneurs’ Day and a discussion on Women Empowering Africa.
The two agreements were signed by Sir Suma Chakrabarti, EBRD’s president, Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Misr El Kheir’s deputy managing director, and Yousef ElSammaa, Falak’s chief executive.
