Egypt will present amendments to a law giving the private sector more engagement in the government’s national infrastructure projects within three months, an official in Ministry of Finance said on Thursday.
Projects under the public-private partnerships (PPPs) are attractive for investors from all sectors, director of Finance Ministry’s public private partnerships (PPP) central unit Atter Hannoura said.
The works that would need private sector engagement include a bunch of road projects, tunnels, and airports, Hannoura said at a meeting with Egyptian door knock mission in London.
The partnership between Egyptian government and the private sector aims to increase the accomplishment rates in the country’s national projects to meet all the citizens’ needs in the new cities, he said.
Authorities in Egypt strongly support the idea of expanding in carrying out PPP projects, Hannoura said, adding that they welcome both local and foreign partners.
