Egypt’s domestic debt rose 16.9 percent to 3.695 trillion Egyptian pounds ($206.7 billion) in the financial year 2017-2018 that ended last June, central bank data showed on Thursday.
Domestic debt stood at 3.161 billion at the end of June 2017.
During the fourth quarter of the 2017-2018 financial year, domestic debt hiked by around 4.5 percent, the central bank added.
The ratio of domestic debt to gross domestic product reached nearly 83.3 percent as of the end of June this year, the central bank data said.
