The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Argentina registered around $1.792 billion during 2016, said Egypt’s Industry and Trade Minister Tarek Qabil on Wednesday. The $1.792 billion included Egyptian exports of $8 million.
“The trade deficit between the two countries reached $1.784 billion, balanced for Argentina,” Qabil further stated.
The Egyptian minister made his remarks during a meeting with Argentine Vice President Marta Gabriela Michetti, on the sidelines of 11th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), which takes place from 11-14 December 2017 in Buenos Aires in Argentina.
In the meeting, they discussed the ways of developing bilateral trade as well as enhancing economic cooperation and common investments between the two countries within the upcoming period.
Earlier in July 2017, Qabil added that Marta Gabriela Michetti Argentina visited Egypt, where she confirmed that Argentina is keen on strengthening relations with Egypt in trade and economic fields.
