The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) said that the Egyptian government is expanding partnerships with the private sector to elevate the agriculture sector.
The FAO representative in Egypt, Hussein Gadain, said that the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation is working on expanding agricultural investments in Egypt, in order to increase Egyptian exports.
Gadain added that the ministry aims at raising investments in producing sugarcane and sugar beet to grow sugar production.
He also told Mubasher that the FAO’s role is to promote investments opportunities and attract more investors alongside the efforts of the government, he also stressed his organization’s keenness to support small farmers, and to help in raising their standard of living by enhancing the competiveness of their product.
