Pakistan-Egypt trade exchange hit $182 million in 10 months: envoy

Trade exchange between Egypt and Pakistan has recorded around $182 million during the first 10 months of 2016, said Pakistani ambassador to Cairo, Mushtaq Ali Shah on Monday.

Pakistan’s exports to Egypt amounted to $83 million during the period from January until October of 2016, covering threads, cloths, paper, frozen shrimps, polyethylene, and medical apparatus, Ali Shah added.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s exports to Pakistan registered $99 million, covering alfalfa seeds, television sets, cotton, rubber tires, calcium phosphate, and chemicals, the Pakistani official further said.

Ali Shah made his remarks during the Egyptian Pakistani Business Forum that took place in Cairo in the presence of a delegation of major Pakistani businessmen, who held one-on-one meetings with Egyptian counterparts.
