EMRA eyes producing 1.9mn T of phosphate end-June

Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) plans to raise production rates of mineral resources sector within financial year 2016/17.

An official source at EMRA told Amwal Al Ghad on Wednesday, 18 January, that the authority adopts a strategy to increase total phosphate production to around 1.9 million tonnes by the end of June 2017.

He added that the targeted amounts would be provided for a number of sector’s firms notably Al Wadi Al Gadid For Mineral Resources and Oilshale- Wadico, Egyptian Company for Mineral Resources, and Misr Phosphate S.A.E.
