Egyptian non-petroleum exports saw modest increase of 1.6 percent in January-April 2016 as they recorded US$6.5 billion versus US$6.4 billion at the same period of 2015.
According to the latest report released Monday by Egyptian Foreign Trade Data Warehouse, non-petroleum exports to European Union states reached around $1.7 billion by the end of April 2016 opposed to $1.5 billion a year earlier, marking 10 percent growth.
Egypt’s exports to Arab states hit around $2.9 billion during the first four months of 2016 compared to $2.8 billion at the same period of 2015 with 4 percent increase, the report showed.
Meanwhile, the African non-Arab countries got Egyptian non-petroleum imports estimated at $372 million opposed to $363 million with a 2 percent growth rate, followed by USA whose imports recorded $369 million in January-April 2016 versus $422 million a year earlier.
