Egypt to receive 1st LNG shipment from Russia’s Rosneft in May

Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) is set to receive first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) shipment from Russia’s refining firm Rosneft in May, a source at the Egyptian company said Thursday.

This shipment is the first of five shipments of LNG that Egypt agreed upon with Rosneft.

In 2015, Egypt and Rosneft signed a memorandum of understanding for a slew of petroleum products as well as 24 LNG cargoes. Only five of the 24 initially agreed cargoes were later inked into a final deal.
