Egyptian Engineering Export Council (EEC) targets increasing the sector’s exports tenfold, to be from US$3 billion to US$30 billion during the next seven years, its chairman Amr Aboufreikha stated Monday.
He further said that manpower is one of the factors behind developing engineering sector and boosting its productivity as well as being an added value in different products. Thus, more partnerships with different authorities are needed to train, upgrade, and invest in the human source.
Aboufreikha added that EEC is set to draw a plan for improving and developing exports of engineering industries in addition to opening new markets for Egyptian products outside.
The council is currently working on improving products’ quality through developing specifications to cope with the international standards in addition to paying great attention to external exhibitions whether in Europe or Africa, the Egyptian official concluded.
