Egypt targets enhancing rates of intra-trade with Singapore that recorded US$224 million in 2014, Trade and Industry minister Tarek Qabil stated Wednesday.
The minister stated that Egypt is the third largest future market for Singaporean investments in the Middle East in 2015.
Qabil made these remarks in his speech during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between Egypt and Singapore in behalf of Prime Minister Sherif Ismail.
He emphasised on the importance of upgrading fields of mutual cooperation through forming new cores for the economic collaboration within the upcoming period to reach highest levels of economic fusion.
Qabil clarified that there are a lot of available investment opportunities for Singaporean investors in Egypt within the coming period as pursuant to the large projects that the government recently launched.
The Minister pointed that the date of Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister Chee Hean’s visit to Egypt is important since it comes in line with the 50th anniversary which is considered as a great chance to exert more efforts to enhance joint cooperation and bilateral relations between Egypt and Singapore.
