Industrial Development grants approvals for 61 projects to expand

Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has granted approvals for 61 projects to expand inside and outside the industrial zones in July 2015, Trade Minister Monir Fakhry Abd El Nour said Monday.

The granted approvals are estimated at 9.7 billion Egyptian pounds (US$1.2 billion), the minister stated.

Abd El Nour added that the approvals included different sectors: food industries, textile, chemicals, engineering, mineral, mining and leather.

Around 63 projects have got immediate, initial and conditioned approvals; 52 immediate approvals that provided 4,800 job opportunities and 11 conditioned initial approvals that provided 1,935 job opportunities.

The approvals were divided among 14 governorates: Cairo, Giza, Al Sharqia, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Sohag, Qena, Minya, Kafr el-Sheikh, Monufia, Beheira, Asyut, Beni Suef and Ismailia, the minister noted.

Abd El Nour added that industrial sectors have witnessed a remarkable development in different industrial zones, new cities and governorates during the first month of fiscal year 2015-16.
