The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) Chairman Khaled Abdel Badie said there is an increase in gas consumption to power plants as currently 116 million cubic feet of gas has pumped per day instead of 110 million cubic feet in the last month.
In a statements to Amwal Al Ghad , Abdel Badie added that EGAS is committed to pump all the needs of power plants across governorates and in case of the shortage in the production of natural gas the company provides additional quantities of diesel fuel.
Petroleum Ministry and EGAS need to continue importing quantities of natural gas from abroad so as to cope with the stability of the production rates at a checkpoint 5.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day, Abdel Badie noted.
Moreover, he requested from the energy-consuming sectors to set serious programs for electricity consumption.
