Gold prices in Egypt slumped on Tuesday by two Egyptian pounds per gram. The Twenty-four carat gold is sold today for EGP 302.06; while the widely-spread in Egypt Twenty-one carat gold scored EGP 264.
The 18-carat gold reached EGP 226.63 today.
Nady Naguib – member of the gold traders chamber – referred to the fluctuation in gold prices in global markets which affects in return on the local market. The gold futures reached US$ 1335.85 an ounce on Tuesday.
Mr. Naguib said the gold traders hang on in the hope that the coming of Eid al-Adha will contribute to ease the state of long-lasting relative recession of 60%.
