by Yomna Yasser

Egypt’s ongoing political unrest is driving the foreign investors to lose their appetite towards making new investments in the country, the head of the Egyptian Businessmen Association told Amwal Al Ghad on Wednesday.

Mr. Hussein Sabour, Head of Egyptian Businessmen Association, further said undoubtedly, the Egyptian market is not included in the global firms’ upcoming expansion map driven by the polarized status quo.

He referred that the military-assigned interim cabinet has discussed solutions and suggestions to revive the economy. Therefore, the Egyptian cabinet has recently announced urgent plans to activate and save the long-stalled investments, instead of alluring new investments described as ‘fanciful’ by the Deputy Prime Minister Ziad Bahaa El-Din.

Furthermore, Mr. Sabour hoped that the current polarized situation would come to an end through reaching an effective compromise that shall in return revive the national economy.
