Toyota Motor reported a seven per cent increase in global vehicle production in January, marking the 13th consecutive month of year-on-year growth, according to Reuters on Wednesday.
The company’s output reached 740,332 vehicles, with worldwide sales increased by 11 per cent. Strong demand in the United States drove the growth, offsetting declining sales in Japan.
US sales surged by 23 per cent, while European sales increased by two per cent. However, domestic sales in Japan dropped by 14 per cent. Sales in China jumped by 39 per cent, but this was partly due to calendar changes related to the Chinese New Year.
