SCA offers maintenance services amid Red Sea crisis

by Aya El Sayed

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) was ready to provide essential navigational services, maintenance, and repair services for vessels in transit, particularly during breakdowns or emergencies, SCA announced on Monday.

To this effect, SCA received dry bulk carrier ZOGRAFIA which suffered internal and external damage from an attack during its Red Sea voyage on January 16th this year.

The Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority, Admiral Ossama Rabiee, announced that the Suez Shipyard Co., a subsidiary of the SCA, has taken in the carrier ZOGRAFIA, which docked on the western side of a floating dock capable of holding 55 thousand tonnes with the help of SCA tugboats.

These efforts aim to preserve regular traffic flow through the Canal, sustain global supply chains, and maintain ongoing, effective communication with all clients. This approach helps to lessen the effects of the current situation in the Red Sea.
