Greece suggested commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to avoid Yemeni waters, in light of the Houthi attacks, Reuters reported on Wednesday.
The country also advised the ships to only keep the necessary crew on the bridge and follow alerts issued by maritime authorities to avoid getting attacked.
Greek ship-owners control around 20 percent of the world’s carrying capacity for commercial vessels.
The Houthis said that the attacks are a response to Israel’s bombardment of Palestinians in Gaza.
They also said that the attacks will stop when Israel stops its vicious bombardment.
The Israeli attacks on Gaza killed more than 20,000 Palestinian civilians and wounded more than 50,000.
