The antisemitism of Golda Meir

“We in Israel need immigrants from countries with a high standard, because the future of our social structure is worrying us.” said Golda Meir, former Prime Minister of Israel.

“We have immigrants from Morocco, Libya, Iran, Egypt and other countries with a 16th century level. Shall we be able to elevate these immigrants to a suitable level of civilisation?” she added, addressing the Zionist Federation of Great Britain.

Meir took office in 1969, to lead a time of ethnic cleansing and racism.

Despite being celebrated as a feminist hero in Israel, Meir has made some of the most antisemitic comments ever.

She said constantly that European Jews are a superior race to those from the Middle East.

Even though, zionism is based on the idea that all Jews descended from the same “pure” race, this does not stop European jews from discriminating against those from the Middle East and Africa.

According to Jewish Voice for Peace, Meir had a long history of discrimination against both Jews and Palestinians.

She once even denied the existence of the Palestinian people by saying: “It was not as if there was a Palestinian people in Palestine and we came and threw them out and took their country away from them. They did not exist.”

This atrocious statement comes of course after Meir immigrated to Palestine in 1921.

She even once admitted holding the Palestinian nationality from 1921 to 1948.
