IATF 2023 generates $43.7bln trade, investments deals – Kanayo Awani

The Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2023), which took place in Cairo on November 9 -15, has surpassed its pre-set target of $43 billion in trade and investment deals, to reach $43.7 billion, said Kanayo Awani, Executive Vice President of Intra-African Trade Bank, on Tuesday.

Awani’s announcements came during a Post-Event Virtual Press Conference held on Tuesday in order to share the outcomes of the fair with media reporters.

She mentioned that 61 countries attended the IATF 2023, including 46 African countries of which 42 African states had pavilions and 16 non-African countries. Awani also announced that there were 1939 exhibitors against a target of 1600.

Awani also revealed that total physical and virtual attendees at the third edition of the fair was 28,282 from 130 countries, compared to 11,828 participated physically and 27,000 participated virtually from 128 countries in IATF 2021.

Egypt hosted the third edition of IATF 2023, which is organised with the African Union and the Secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade area. It was the second time for Egypt to host the IATF.
