Amazon Web Services continues to invest $7.8bln in Ohio

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced on Monday that Amazon Web Services plans to invest $7.8 billion by 2029 to expand the state’s data centres, contributing to the creation of hundreds of new jobs.

The new data centres will contain servers for computers, data storage engines and network equipment along with other forms of technological infrastructure used in cloud computing, according to the state governor’s statement.

Amazon Web Services launched its first data centre in the Midwest in 2016 in addition to generating more than $2 billion in Ohio economic returns and creating more than 3,000 jobs in the state.
