Eva Pharma, Roche sign agreement to localise immune suppressant drug production in Egypt

Eva Pharma signed agreement with Swiss drug maker Roche to localise the provided medicines production for patients undergoing organ transplants, including manufacturing in Egypt and export to emerging markets in Africa.

The MoU was signed on Thursday in the second edition of the Africa Health Excon 2023, in the presence of Baha El-Din Zidan, head of Unified Procurement Authority (UPA) and Tamer Issam, head of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA).

The project aims to promote technology transfer and develop technical knowledge of immunosuppressant drugs that are needed to improve patients’ lives undergoing organ transplants through a competitive model in terms of cost and flexibility.

The pharmaceutical industry is a key pillar of the Egyptian government’s economic reform plan in terms of its contribution to GDP and job creation, and supports the achievement of the country’s sustainable development strategy and Vision 2030.
