Egypt’s central bank announced on Saturday that it had launched a new website.
The move comes in line with the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) vision to keep abreast of the latest technological developments, and in compliance with international best practices.
It aims to give visitors a unique experience that meets their expectations in obtaining all requested information, and to easily identify the roles and responsibilities of CBE in addition to becoming aware of the bank’s various functions and sectors.
The new website is part of CBE‘s efforts towards constant development of the various effective communication channels in order to increase transparency of all the measures taken by CBE towards achieving the key mandates concerned with monetary and financial stability.
CBE’s new website includes rich content – in both Arabic and English – consisting of more than 450 webpages, with easy navigation features and responsive design, as well as adjustable options, that include controlling font size and color contrast, considering different visual preferences of users.
It is also equipped with an advanced search engine, supported by various financial literacy content to promote financial education, as well as downloadable data and interactive charts.
Moreover, the CBE said the website provides visitors with accurate and up-to-date information of all events and news, including international reserves updates, capital markets, inflation data, laws and regulations governing the banking section. It also includes a dedicated section about CBE, the achievements in fintech ecosystem, the expansion in digital payments usage, and the advancements in cybersecurity procedures.
The new website also sheds the light on the enhanced capabilities in the field of banknote printing, measures taken to promote financial inclusion, the spread of financial literacy and sustainability, methods of customer protection and competitiveness, all relevant economic research data, etc..
The Egyptian central bank is committed to continue communicating effectively. For this, the new website incorporates; direct communication channels with the public, with a dedicated section for submitting banking customers’ complaints, booking meetings for Investors, ensuring more engagement for different target audience to achieve CBE’s objectives.
