Chinese Ministry of Defense has announced on Wednesday the implementation of joint maritime drills in the Gulf of Oman, in participation with Russia and Iran, starting from 15 to 19 March.
The Russian and Chinese navies had conducted military drills in South Africa earlier, as South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor expressed her country’s desire to benefit from the Russian-Chinese military expertise.
South African Defense Minister, Tandy Modisi, said earlier that the United States is putting pressure on African countries that continue their relations with Russia.
The drills will help “deepen practical cooperation among the navies of participating countries,” the Chinese Ministry added.
