COVID-19 in Egypt: infections fall to 124 cases last week

COVID-19 infections decreasing in Egypt, the cases reached 124 during the last week, while the average daily death toll was six cases, declared the Egyptian Ministry of Health on Saturday.

The average daily number of people recovering from COVID-19 last week reached 260 to be the total recovering cases from the virus so far to 444,002, said Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.

The end of the peak of the fifth wave after the fall and stability of daily infections, the Health Ministry confirmed on March 12.

Adding that vaccines play a major role in decreasing the infection numbers and severity of diseases. As, 33,585,495 people are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The ministry announced earlier this month that it would release its report on infections, deaths and recovery of COVID-19 on a weekly basis.

Egypt has provided in a noticeable time all types of vaccines, including Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna.

Vaccinations with the third booster dose began on December 21 in Egypt.
