Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said on Tuesday the country had “no issue” with the provision of its needs of staple goods and that its strategic reserves of wheat reached almost 5.5 million tons.
His comments came amid concerns over supply tensions arising from arising from pandemic and Russia’s war in Ukraine, the two biggest suppliers of wheat for Egypt.
The North African country has wheat stocks sufficient for more than four months, President Sisi added.
