Egypt sees $120m exports to Brazil in 8 months

Egypt’s exports to Brazil recorded around $120 million in the first eight months of 2020, according to The Head of the commercial department at the Embassy of Brazil in Cairo.

The Head of the commercial department at the Embassy of Brazil in Cairo, Rubem Mendes de Oliveira, announced that Egypt has become the fourth most important export market for Brazil among the Arab countries.

Oliveira added that Egypt is a strategic partner for Brazil, especially after the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Egypt and Mercosur had entered into force in 2017.

He further remarked that Brazilian exports to Egypt grew by 3.3% in 2016-2019, despite the decline in the exports to $1.8 billion in 2019, compared to $2.4 billion in 2018.

Meanwhile, Egypt has registered around $155.4 million in exports to Brazil in 2017 and $314 million in 2019.
