Egypt collects EGP 2.7bn customs, taxes from Dekheila, Sokhna ports during August

The Egyptian Customs Authority collected 2.736 billion Egyptian pounds in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports during August 2020.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports totalled 599.318 million pounds in August.

Meanwhile, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the two ports amounted to 2.136 billion pounds.

The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, corn, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, yarn, cars spare parts, and mobile accessories.

The two ports exported goods that include, marble, sand, phosphate, fibres, petroleum materials, furniture, juices, ready-made garments, and herbs, at a total value of EGP 4.311 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods registered EGP 4.397 million.
