Egypt’s non-oil exports record $14.26 bln in seven months

Egypt’s non-oil exports recorded $14.26 billion during the first seven months of the current year.

North African nation’s non-oil exports dropped 3.9 percent to $1.941 billion in July from $2.021 billion last year, the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC) announced.

The country’s exports to the Arab League countries reached $792 million, followed by the European Union countries with $433 million, non-Arab Asian countries with $279 million, and the rest of the world with $195 million.

Exports to the U.S. amounted to $148 million, while those to non-Arab African countries stood at $130 million.

Egypt’s top 20 non-oil industrial exports reached $1.018 billion in July, headed by gold, crude oils, nitrogen fertilisers, display screens, insulated wires and cables, and ready-made garments.

The country’s top 20 food exports stood at $222 million, led by fresh and dried grapes, soybean oil, cheese, frozen vegetables, dry legumes, frozen fruits, and plants.
