CBE denies issuing 500-pound banknote in July

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) denied issuing a 500-pound banknote starting July according to a source with Knowledge

The source dismissed the groundless reports that circulated in social media.

He warned people from being dragged behind such rumors, saying only the official pages and website of the CBE are the only reliable sources for any bank-related information.

However, the total issued and circulated cash increased by 6.92 billion pounds during the month of February, according to its latest data issued by the Central Bank, to record 559.157 billion pounds, compared to 552.237 billion pounds at the end of January 2020.
