Egypt saw 103 new positive coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the total to 1173, as well as seven new fatalities, giving a total death toll of 78, Ahram Online reported.
The newly detected cases include 102 Egyptians and one foreigner, all of whom either came from abroad or were in contact with other positive cases.
Health ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said in a statement that the number of coronavirus patients who had retested negative for the virus had reached 346, of whom 247 have fully recovered and left isolation hospitals.
The spokesman said that six more cases – all Egyptians — have fully recovered and left isolation hospitals on Thursday.
Egypt surpassed the thousand-case milestone on Saturday, and on Friday recorded the highest daily increase in coronavirus cases and deaths, with 120 new cases and eight fatalities.
The government suspended schools and universities and closed airports in March.

On 24 March, Egypt declared a two-week curfew from 7pm to 6am, the broadest measure yet taken to combat the coronavirus.
