Egypt-Sudan joint electricity grid starts operations – ministry

The joint electricity grids of Egypt and Sudan were officially connected on Friday with an initial capacity of 60 megawatts, Sudanese ministry of energy and mining said in a statement.

The extension of the grid to Sudan’s northern regions was completed with testing on Friday morning, the ministry statement added.

The project is part of efforts to expand power supply for both countries.
