Dubai port operator DP World plans to build a 10 million square metre industrial zone in the Egyptian Red Sea port of Ain al-Sokhna, an official said late Wednesday.
Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has reached a preliminary agreement with DP World to develop a sprawling industrial zone in Ain al-Sokhna, which will be carried out in two phases, its Chairman Yehia Zaki told reporters.
Ain al-Sokhna, near the southern end of the Suez Canal, is Cairo’s main port for cargo from the Far East.
