Both of Hatem Saleh, Egyptian Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, and his Sudanese counterpart signed this morning a memorandum of understanding to construct an industrial zone on an area of 2 million cubic meters; for investment in industries of food, leather tanning and building materials.
The two sides agreed on constructing a technological institute in White Nile region, to train Sudanese on the food manufacturing.
Dr Hesham Kandil, who heads the economic delegation to sign a number of agreements and inaugurate some joint ventures between the two countries, witnessed signing the MoU.
National Bank of Egypt (Khartoum), was officially inaugurated yesterday, in the presence of Tarek Amer, Chairman of NBE, and a number of economists.
The volume of the commercial exchange between Cairo and Khartoum is $500 million on the industrial level, while total commercial exchange between the two countries is $ 5 billion.
