8 firms submit offers to operate Siemens’ Egyptian power plants

Eight alliances have presented their offers for a tender includes the operation and maintenance of three power plants in Beni Suef, the county’s new administrative capital, and Burullus built by German engineering company Siemens, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

The contenders comprise consortiums of Orascom-ADERA Energy, Elsewedy-EDF, Germany’s STEAG GmbH, Triangle-GD France, Korea’s Doosan, and Japan’s Mitsubishi, the Egyptian electricity ministry told Al-Borsa newspaper.

In November 2017, Egyptian Electricity Holding Company invited tenders for a project aimed at operating and maintaining Siemens’ three power plants in Egypt.
