Egyptian trade minister Tarek Qabil is to hold Wednesday an expanded meeting with the Italian Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi to review investment opportunities available in Egypt within the upcoming period.
Guidi is visiting Egypt heading a mission of 30 firms working in furniture, energy, transport, power, and construction sectors to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt.
Qabil stated that this visit comes among the preparations for the Egyptian-Italian summit which is set to be held during 2016 between the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Italian PM Matteo Renzi.
The summit aims to emphasise that both governments care to enhance and strengthen the mutual relations notably the economic ones.
Minister Qabil pointed out that there are a number of investment opportunities available for the Italian firms to invest in Egypt within the coming period, notably in furniture, automotive feeding industries and small and medium-sized industries.
Qabil asserted that it is important to make use of the Italian experience in establishing the new furniture city which is set to be established in Damietta governorate as well as developing automotive industry and the other feeding ones.
