Al Gharbiya Businessmen Association revealed that 25% of ready-made garments factories, which work in the El-Mahalla El-Kubra and the whole governorate, halted due to the fall of sales and the instability states in the governorate.
Abdo Shaheen, secretariat of the association, said the main reason for halting these factories is due to declining the interior and exterior demand on the ready-made garments, as well the fall which the national economy witness. He said the markets in slums have negative influence on the factories’ products, as these markets depend on the products of the small workshops with low prices.
Hassan Balaha, chairman of the Cooperative Association for Textile in El-Mahalla El-Kubra, said the ready-made garments factories wok with 40% capacity, because of the security states and declining the sales, consequently a liquidity crisis hindered these factories from getting raw materials.
