David Malpass, president of World Bank, and Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are set to discuss the complex challenges facing the global economy during Spring meetings held on Monday in Washington.
The 2023 Spring Meetings are under the theme: The Way Forward: Building Resilience and Reshaping Development. “Three years since the pandemic started, uncertainties and risks still weigh heavily on the global economy,” said the World Bank.
The meetings will include discussions to explore about bettering finance global public goods and address the global challenges; soaring inflation, cost of living crisis, slow economic growth, high debt, climate change and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
The Spring meetings will have government officials from the IMF and World Bank, observers and representatives of international, regional and economic organisations.
