Why people disliking Trump should vote for him

Donald Trump says he has the “greatest temperament,” but if voters don’t believe him, no sweat.

The Republican presidential candidate knows plenty of reasons why voters who don’t like him should vote for him on Nov. 8 anyway.

“If you don’t like me, that’s okay. Vote for Pence!” Trump told a crowd in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday.

Mike Pence, his vice presidential pick, is the governor of Indiana and a former U.S. congressman respected by many in the Republican Party who remain suspicious of Trump.

Earlier in the week, Trump told crowds they should vote for him for a different reason.

“Even if you can’t stand Donald Trump, even if you think Donald Trump is the worst, you’re going to vote for me,” he said in Ashburn, Virginia, on Tuesday. “You know why? Justices of the Supreme Court.”

One seat on the Court is vacant after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, but Trump said he believes he might get to name as many as five justices.

To be sure, Trump wants voters to like him, too. On Friday, he said in Des Moines he believed he was “extremely fit” to be president.
