Vodafone Egypt invests $1.3bn within 2014-17

The total investments of Vodafone Egypt in local market within 2014-17 are estimated at 10.5 billion Egyptian pounds (US$1.3 billion), Khaled Hegazy -external affairs and legal director- said Monday.

On the sidelines of firm’s press conference, Hegazy told Amwal Al Ghad that those investments are divided into; 4.5 billion pounds have been pumped during fiscal year 2014-15 and 6 billion pounds are expected to be pumped within the upcoming two years. Those investments are relying on company’s self-finance, the official added.

Hegazy stated that Vodafone Egypt has attained revenues worth 7.14 billion pounds (£589 million) within the first half of fiscal year 2015-16, registering 8.2 percent growth rate.

The business statements of Vodafone Egypt showed that the volume of company’s profits before interest rates and taxes recorded around 3 billion pounds dirong the first half of fiscal year 2015-16 compared to 2.9 billion pounds a year earlier.
