The New Urban Communities Authority warned of dealing or selling the agricultural lands in the new Damietta apparatus; explaining that some people set aside some agricultural lands and build on them.
The authority in its statement said some people had sold lately some agricultural lands by violating the cabinet’s decision no. 546/1980 of constructing a port and the new Damietta city, and others set aside the state’s lands. In order to protest and save the citizens’ money and interests and to avoid facing legal problems, the authority assured that it is the only authority which has control on the lands of the decision.
On his side, Eng. Mohamed Abou Samra, head of New Damietta Apparatus, said the apparatus counted the violations on the agricultural lands which specified for companies and constructions, reached 20 acres.
He revealed that the authority called on the ministries of housing and interior to help in demolishing these violations, but the military and interior forces elaborated that the demolition processes will be after the presidential elections.
