Uber has announced on Wednesday it is cutting 200 of its staff in the recruitment division, in line with its plans to keep the staff count steady.
The layoffs, which follow previous layoffs of 150 employees in its freight services division, will be affecting less than one percent of ride hailing service’s 32,700 global workforce, and 35 percent of its recruiting team.
Uber had previously cut off 17 percent of its staff mid-2020, which is smaller than cuts by rival, Lyft.
Uber has announced that it is on track to post operating income profitability, and is keeping its workforce flat following a drop in March.
