U.S. reports record $738 billion budget deficit in April

The U.S. reported on Tuesday a record $738 billion budget deficit in April as a result of a surge in federal spending in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The deficit report was the first to take into account the massive spending implemented by the U.S. government to offset the negative economic fallout of the pandemic, according to Reuters.
