Turkey’s current account deficit rises to $5.4bln in April

Turkey’s central bank said Monday that the country’s current balance of transactions had risen to $ 5.404 billion in April, exceeding Reuters expectations that the deficit would reach $ 4.5 billion.

Turkey’s unemployment rate rose 0.1 points on a monthly basis to 10.2 percent in April, while the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose 1.7 points to 23.8 percent.

In March, Turkey’s current balance deficit was $4.903 billion, while for the entire year 2022 the deficit was $48.769 billion.
