TikTok, the leading destination for short-form videos, is honoring the spirit of sharing this Eid through partnering with the Egyptian Clothing Bank to provide new Eid clothes for the families in need.
Hany Kamel, Content Operations Director in North Africa, commented “During these challenging times, TikTok is keen to continue supporting its communities in need. During the past few months, we were inspired by how our users came together on TikTok to add joy, laughter, and extend a helping hand to others. This Eid through the ” Share the Joy” hashtag challenge in partnership with the Egyptian Clothing Bank, we will be providing our users with the opportunity once again to rally towards a positive cause. For each video a user will post under the hashtag #sharethejoy, TikTok will donate a new Eid outfit to a family in need with a cap of $ 30,000”
It is noteworthy to mention that the TikTok community played a key role in supporting various positive impact campaigns across the region. Earlier this year, the community united to raise 3 million EGP for UNHCR to improve the lives of refugees in the region.
Tiktok community has came together to raise $200,000 under the #JoyofGiving hashtag to support the UNICEF cause to deliver crucial resources to children and affected communities across the MENA region, providing much-needed relief.
On the local level, TikTok collaborated with the Egyptian Food Bank to launch the #cookfromhome challenge in collaboration with many content creators, foodies and celebrity chefs to donate ‘Iftar Sa’em’ boxes to the families of day laborers during Ramadan, as they were hugely affected by the lockdown.
For those who want to join in and support the Egyptian Clothing Bank, TikTok will donate an outfit per each video posted under the #SharetheJoy with a cap of $30 thousands.
